SEALANTS

Sealants are a preventative option usually recommended for young children during their cavity prone years. They offer added protection while children are developing their brushing and flossing skills. They are a painless and affordable option for most patients.

White Fillings

White Fillings are actually tooth-colored composite fillings. Metal fillings that have been used by dentists for over 100 years finally have an attractive alternative to their dark and unsightly blotch. Dr. Frazier carefully matches patient's teeth, making a filled tooth almost impossible to distinguish from any other tooth. The white fillings our practice uses are made of durable porcelain and resin. Fillings are bonded to the teeth for a strong and natural finish to your smile. Tooth colored fillings appear to be part of the tooth.

Implants

If you have lost teeth, dental implants can replace them with durable, natural-looking restorations. Dental implants consist of a metal anchor that is implanted directly into your jaw by an oral surgeon. Then, Dr. Frazier attaches a crown to the anchor. The crown is carefully selected to match the color of your surrounding teeth, rendering it virtually indistinguishable from them.

If you are considering dental implants to restore lost teeth, contact the office of Dr. Rita Frazier to discuss your options.

CROWNS AND BRIDGES

Dental crowns and bridges can be an excellent option to restore damaged or missing teeth. Dental crowns are used to cover damaged teeth with natural-looking porcelain ones, restoring appearance as well as function. Dental bridges are useful when a tooth is gone, but the teeth on either side remain. A porcelain artificial tooth is used to bridge the gap, anchoring onto nearby teeth. Bridges are semi-permanent, and can only be removed by a dentist.

TMJ

TMJ refers to the joint where your jawbone attaches to your skull. The acronym TMJ has come to refer to a variety of different problems that occur with this joint with symptoms including clicks and pops, headaches, earaches, jaw pain and the inability to fully open the mouth. A variety of things can cause TMJ. Clenching and grinding teeth, which can be the result of stress, can result in TMJ disorders, as can neck strain such as that caused by constantly leaning forward to look at a computer screen. TMJ disorders can be made worse by poor diet, lack of sleep, and high stress levels. If you have TMJ symptoms, and these or other risk factors are present in your life, you may benefit from TMJ treatment. A TMJ diagnosis may require a wide variety of treatments which usually begins with gentle therapies such as massage, heat and cold packs, and exercise, and may go on to incorporate mouth guards to prevent clenching and grinding, realignment of the teeth, and muscle relaxant medication.
